We all know breakfast is the important meal of the day as it is the first meal of the day. In this article, we will discuss a few healthy breakfast recipes for healthy weight loss.
- Sprouts Chaat/ Salad :
Soak 100 grams of whole green gram (moong daal) in water and leave for 7 or 8 hours. After that drain the water and cover the vessel then leave it for 12 hours. Once you notice the legumes have sprouted, transfer them to a storage container. Now give you can eat the sprouts in two ways
- Add raw fruits and vegetables with some lime juice and salad seasoning
- Or Give a quick boil to the sprouts for 7-8 mins and then let them cool down and then add raw fruits and vegetables to them
Note * You can also add dry fruits, grated ginger, and asafoetida to enhance the taste of the chaat.
You can also store them in the refrigerator for about a week and use them as desired.
This will be a good protein-rich breakfast that helps to reduce a few pounds.
- Vegetable Upma
Dry roast the Rava or suji in a pan until it turns a light brown for about 7-10 mins. and let it cool. now heat the oil in a pan and add the mustard seeds, urad dal and curry leaves to it. mustard seeds splutter, add the onions, green chilies, and ginger and leave until golden brown. Now add the peas and vegetables. Mix well. Add about 3 cups of water and cook closed until the vegetables turn soft. Now add salt as per your taste and add raw to eat and keep stirring it until you get a fine mix. Continue to cook and stir for another 5 mins. Serve hot with curd, sambhar, and coconut chutney.
- Rava Idli
Rava Idlis are packed with essential minerals like Vitamin B, calcium, dietary fiber, phosphorus, zinc, and magnesium, rava helps to boost bone health, and promote digestion and weight loss.
To make Rava idli you just need to mix Rava and curd with some water. then you can add so many vegetables like onion, tomatoes, capsicum, sweet corn, carrot, etc. Give a nice mix to all. You can add spices according to your taste. Now add a half teaspoon of baking powder to the mixture to make the idli soft and spongy. Put the mixture in an idli maker and cook it for 15 mins. Serve hot with sambhar or chutney.

- Masala oatmeal
Roast oats in a frying pan until aromatic. Now heat 1 spoon of oil or butter in a frying pan and add cumin seeds and asafoetida to it. Now add onion and saute until golden brown and then add vegetables of your choice like broccoli, carrot, green peas, spinach, etc. Add tomatoes to it and cover it with a lid. After 5 mins add some water and bring to a boil and let the vegetables cook. After that add oats to eat and cook for another 2-3 mins. serve hot.
Roast Quinoa in a frying pan until aromatic. Now heat 1 spoon of oil or butter in a cooker and add cumin seeds and asafoetida to it. Now add onion and saute until golden brown and then add vegetables of your choice like broccoli, carrot, green peas, spinach, corn, chillis, capsicum, cheese, etc. Add tomatoes to it and cover it with a lid. After 5 mins add some water and bring to a boil and let the vegetables cook. After that add Quinoa to eat and cook for another 2-3 whistles. serve hot. You can also have it with curd.
- Boiled Chickpeas
Boiled overnight soaked chickpeas. Add lemon,salt, green chillis, tomatoes, onion, cucmber. 1 serving of chickpea salad contains only 167 calories and it is high in protien.
- Dosa Sambhar With Nariyal Chatni
Soak 1 portion of rice with 1/4 of lentils for 8 hours. Make dosa batter in a blender or mixer-grinder. Now ferment dosa batter for minimum of 10-12 hours. It could take more time in winters to get ferment the batter. Heat a cast iron pan. When the pan becomes hot, spread ½ teaspoon oil all over the pan with a spoon or with a thick paper towel dipped in oil. For a richer taste, you can cook the dosa with ghee or butter. Serve hot with sambhar and coconut chatni.
