The Fourth Month of Pregnancy

With fourth month (Weeks 13-16) your third trimester also starts. There are lots of exciting milestones occur during the fourth month. During the fourth month, unpleasant side-effects such as headaches, morning sickness, and mood swings disappeared. The second trimester is most comfortable of the three trimesters. You should plan some trip during the second trimester as the second trimester is most comfortable.

What happened to your body during fourth month?

The early signs and symptoms of pregnancy almost disappear as you entered into your second trimester. you can get some relief from nausea. But some digestive problems like heartburn and constipation may be increased. Your breast size may increase and you may observe the growing size of nipples as your breast are getting ready for feeding. you may also notice some breath problem which is very common so just don’t need to worry about that.

  • You may notice shortness or fastness in breathing

Baby Development

After first trimester the fetus starts looking like a human being as it has ears, eyes, nose, hair and facial features. At 17 weeks the features of baby start growing as he/she will be able to hear, kick etc. This is the first time when you may start sensing your baby movement which makes you feel very good.

Body Changes

During the second trimester, you may start sensing your baby moving for the first time and this sensation will feel like butterflies fluttering in your abdomen. This time is very good for you as you may feel something is growing day by day inside you. Some of the women may notice some pigmentation, like brown patches on your face or darken brown line on your lower abdomen. You don’t have to worry about that because this will automatically fade after delivery but you just need to make sure don’t tickle if you feel itching otherwise you will be left with scars on that particular part of the body.
